Some of the work required for this position can be done remotely, but a few hours of office time will be required, especially during certain parts of the year. 

Terms & Rate

AVg. of about 7 hrs. / week

rate: $17.00/hr.


  • is Able to communicate well over the phone
  • has good organizational skills
  • grasps a basic understanding of computer technology (emails, microsoft word, etc.)
  • is able to be flexible in work hours when needed (some months are more time-intensive, such as april-June and August-september)
  • displays average typing skills (45-60 words per minute)
  • is teachable
  • has a heart for the purpose/passion of IRBC (see our passion/purpose HERE)
  • can establish and maintain somewhat reguLar work hours each week (e.g., 9a-12p w, 1p-4p F)
  • must sign the irbc CODE OF ETHICS
  • Administrative experience is preferred, but not required


general administrative tasks

  • Help to keep the IRBC Facebook page up-to-date, respond to FB messages, and make posts
  • Help the IRBC Director and Director's Assistant with administrative tasks as directed (emails, filing, answering phone calls, etc.)
  • Assist in organizing and keeping administrative/board records up-to-date

counseling class administrative tasks

  • Receive and vet applications received by people interested in taking the course
  • Respond to applicants' questions
  • Keep track of class sizes, and which applicants have/have not paid their tuition
  • Send letters of approval to those approved to take the course via email
  • Make initial contact with the class discussion facilitator and class secretaries at each venue
  • Help produce and distribute class materials/resources as needed
  • Handle questions that arise throughout the course
  • Communicate with class secretaries about attendance/homework issues toward the end of each semester
  • Ensure DVD sets and class records are received back from each class venue after the course is done
  • File class records
  • Help keep track of names of students that will receive certificates of completion
  • File registrant/student paperwork and compile the information into a computer database
  • Explore future venues for the IRBC counseling class
  • Keep track of the progress of students going on for IRBC certification

other tasks

  • Update and keep current the email address list for all counseling class students
  • Reach out to past students bi-monthly with helpful (approved) counseling-related articles that contain practical helps
  • Recruit qualified counselors to counsel at Associate Member Counseling Centers (i.e., encourage students that have already taken the course within the past five years to go on for IRBC certification)
  • Help with marriage retreats, conferences/seminars, certification ceremony details, etc. as needed
